POSITANO, WINE TASTING, POMPEII SHORE EXCURSION FROM AMALFI PORT

The full day shore excursion organized by Star Cars will guide you to see wonderful places in Amalfi coast. Then you'll visit the ancient archaelogical site of Pompeii, the city buried by the volcanic debris of the furious eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD and you will taste one of the best wines of this fantastic and generous land that is Campania.

The excursion to Positano and Pompeii with Campanian wine tasting will last 8 hours, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and is available departing from Amalfi, Sorrento, Salerno and Naples.

Amalfi coast and Positano

We will leave for Positano around 8:00am , along the beautiful Amalfi drive that runs along the Amalfi Coast. The town of Positano looks like a crib and we will reach it after a trip with some stops in the most panoramic points that our driver will show you, ideal for taking the best photos of this day.

In Positano, you will have about 1 hour of free time to visit the center, walk the famous alleys and stairways that cross the city of Vips, go shopping at one of the many shops selling clothing from the famous Positano "Moda Mare" or handcrafted leather sandals and reach the beach Spiaggia Grande di Positano, one of the most famous beaches in the world.

After Positano we will head towards Vesuvius to visit one of the most famous vineyards and the winery that produces the Lacrima Christi DOC wine, a wine already known in ancient Roman times and whose name literally means Christ's tear (the legend tells that thanks to Jesus' tears, this vine was born)

In this famous winery we will visit the vineyards, and have lunch during which we will be able to taste some of the food specialties of Campania: appetizer with salami, provolone, bruschetta, homemade bread and extra virgin olive oil, then spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and finally a typical Neapolitan dessert, all accompanied by 5 types of wines (white, red and rosé), some sparkling wine and an apricot distillate (as a digestive).

Lastly we will stop in Pompeii to visit the most famous archaeological site in Italy after the Roman one. Pompeii was buried by the fury of Vesuvius in 79 AD  that destroyed the whole area that caused the death of thousands. The site can be visited with or without an authorized tour guide of the Campania Region.

The excursion from the Port of Amalfi ends with the return to the docking port of your ship, where the Star Cars driver will leave you approximately at around 04:00pm.
